Google’s new favicon
classified under Design
Have you noticed Google’s new favicon (for those of you who don’t know, a favicon is the small square-shaped icon that you see in the address bar, next to the url) ? It’s been changed to a lower-case “g” from an upper-case “G”. Although this might not take that much getting used to, could this be an indicator that Google is planning a major change sometime soon.
It’s a shame that only Apple has a huge cult-like fan following, who are willing to investigate each and every print ad or flash banner that the company puts out, eager to find that hidden clue.

Well, actually, Google made the change at what was night-time in the US, so immediate reactions were hard to come by. But within a few hours there were lots of blogposts about it.
Anyway, here’s the official word from Google: http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2008/06/one-fish-two-fish-red-fish-blue-fish.html
